In December, it was announced that Google was planning to acquire Aztech, a British startup that makes mobile internet routers and routers for use in laptops.
While the company is now owned by a Chinese company, it has since gone on to make some of the biggest advancements in wireless networking in the world.
Aztech has developed a wireless network that can transmit data over long distances.
Google bought Aztech last year for $400 million.
AzTech’s wireless networking is a game-changer for wireless technology, and the company was even awarded the $1.6 billion US Department of Energy (DOE) “Small Business Innovation Research” grant last year.
But Aztech’s wireless network has been plagued with problems in recent years, with reports of routers failing to connect to the internet or causing problems when they did connect.
A Google spokesperson told Ars that the company “is investigating the issue” and is “working with the Aztech team to resolve the issue.”
Ars also reached out to Aztech for comment, but we have not heard back.
A recent report from Ars points to a number of problems in the AzTech router’s wireless protocols.
A single Aztech router’s code can be downloaded into the company’s codebase, and it is possible for the code to be altered without a user knowing.
In the case of an outage, this can lead to routers that fail to function at all, or even causing them to be completely unresponsive.
In March 2017, a group of developers at the company wrote a blog post about the problem.
According to the post, Aztech had “an issue that caused routers to fail to detect if they were connected to a network.”
The Aztech company did not immediately respond to Ars’ request for comment.
Ars reached out again to AzTech to see if Aztech was aware of the issues, but the company did no longer respond to our request for further comment.
Google has also said that it is investigating the problems, and a spokesperson told us that it has not yet received any reports of problems with the router’s firmware.
The AzTech team also told Ars they have been contacted by the US government.
Google is also working on new wireless networking technologies, such as its “next-generation wireless networks” (NWN) and its “fiber optics” network.
The company is also developing wireless mesh networks, which aim to use fiber optics instead of wireless.
While these networks could theoretically be used in a wireless router, Google has not announced any plans to do so.
